Full Mouth Rehabilitation with Zirconia Crowns and Bridges
This lovely patient had a consult with Dr Raghu after having multiple missing teeth and others that kept breaking down.
After a few extensive consults and lots of planning with x-rays, photos and scans, we were able to show the patient what the finished product could look like with a 'mock-up'. The patient was happy so Dr Raghu and team started with temporary work on the top jaw, which included 2 bridges. A few days later the patient came back for the temporary work on the lower jaw, with one bridge as well as crowns. Temporaries were necessary as this patient had lost tooth structure over time and her bite was collapsing, so we needed to build the dimensions back up before issuing permanent crowns and bridges. By placing temporaries it also gave Dr Raghu a chance to see where the most pressure was being applied in her mouth and adjust the bite accordingly, so that when it was time to issue the permanents, they had the least chance of fracturing.
Once Dr Raghu and the patient were happy with the bite and how the temporaries were looking, it was time to place the permanent zirconia crowns and bridges. The whole process took about 8 months and the patient was extremely happy with the outcome. We also gave the patient a splint once the permanent work was finished to help with her biting and clenching habits.
